About us
The PWMU is a support network, based in Victoria Australia, for mission work both at home and abroad. We are a branch of the Presbyterian church with a long history in Korea, rural Australia, Chinese communities in Melbourne and much more. To learn more, take a look at our history page.
our council
Roslyn Brown President
Roslyn lives in Bayside, Melbourne, where her husband has been minister at Cheltenham for 12 years. She heads up the EAL (English teaching) ministry there. She remembers as a child being inspired by missionaries to the New Hebrides, and has had an interest in missions ever since. She spent one year with SIM in Niger, and first became involved with PWMU as a young mother at Woolsthorpe, near Warrnambool. She has four grown children and nine grandchildren.
Rosemary Zurrer
Vice President
Rosemary is from Longwarry, Cardinia. She is a minister’s wife, and her husband is also working in chaplaincy. They have lived in 11 different homes across Victoria and South Australia. They have also served as missionaries in Vanuatu. Rosemary has four married children, and a recently married grandchild.

Secretary
Pam Vandenberg
Pam was from Leigh Presbyterian Church where her husband was the pastor until his recent retirement. Pam has four married daughters and fourteen grandchildren. Pam was blessed to have grown up in a godly home with parents who were involved in supporting missions and workers, although her childhood was spent in a Buddhist majority country.
Robyn Crocker Treasurer
Robyn is from Drouin. She was a primary school teacher until she retired and has had an interest in missions since she heard about PNG in Sunday School as a 7 year old. She read about the New Hebrides in 1964. After retiring, Robyn joined the Gippsland RA and volunteered without knowing much about PWMU’s operation. Later Robyn became more fully involved in the work of PWMU.
Our history
in August 1890 the women of the Church, who were already involved in various ways of supporting missionaries, banded together to form the Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union of Victoria (PWMU). In 1891 they had already raised enough financial support and developed the necessary organisational support and sent three women missionaries to Korea.
