DayspringDayspring is a children’s missionary magazine. It is produced for PWMU by Mrs Cassie Hood and Miss Joy Venning – two ladies with a heart for mission.It is issued three times a year and costs $5 per annum. Each edition introduces young people to mission work past and present. There are games and puzzles. Children can write to the Children’s Work Convener and send answers to the puzzles. Gold stars are awarded and when ten are achieved a prize is given. Dayspring DayThis day of learning about missions is held each year in September, usually at the Wycliffe property in Kangaroo Ground. Photos from last DSD? Log in to see the photos? (currently being developed) Children’s ChallengeThe Children’s Challenge is an annual competition for children. It runs from May to September each year and focuses on a specific missionary or area of mission work. The competition for 2009 is focussed on two young missionaries who serve with MAF – Paul and Janae Denness who work in Cambodia and David and Lisa Pearce who are based in Kenya.Entry is free and open to all young people. All entries for the 2009 Challenge must be in by 14th September 2009. Prizes and certificates are awarded and best entries are displayed at the General Assembly. |
